There will be a new face on the sidelines for the Choctaw soccer teams this upcoming fall and spring as Dyer County High School has hired Will Sanders as the new head coach for both the girls and boys teams on the pitch.

The announcement came via the Choctaws’ social media on Tuesday morning.

“I am beyond blessed and excited for the opportunity to be the head coach of both soccer programs at Dyer County,” Sanders said of being hired to helm the orange and white clubs. “I’m looking forward to getting to work with both teams and making ourselves better everyday.”

Tuesday turned into a busy day for the new head coach as DCHS hosted an informal meet and greet with the Sanders, Dyer County Athletic Director Chris Parker, DCHS soccer players and parents that evening.

“It was amazing to get to meet with both teams tonight and see the passion of the players and their want to be better and work hard,” Sanders added. “I’m super excited to see where we go over the next year and see what we can accomplish!
“Again, I’m super blessed and I cannot thank God, Coach Parker, and the Dyer County Administration enough for believing in me and giving me the opportunity. All Glory to God!”

Sanders previously served as an assistant coach with Freed-Hardeman University in Henderson where he also played college soccer after a standout career at South Gibson High School.

“We’re excited to welcome Coach Will Sanders as the new head soccer coach at Dyer County High School,” Parker said. “Coach Sanders brings a strong foundation of knowledge and passion for the game, along with valuable experience at both the high school and collegiate levels. We’re confident his leadership will have a positive impact on our student-athletes both on and off the field.”
