  Meet the Vols 2025 Tight Ends Position Coach-- Alex Abeln All Star Candidate-- Miles Kitselman Miles Kitselman-- RS Senior (6-5, 255, 4.7) Lyndon, Kansas-- After playing only cameo roles at Alabama, Kitselman transferred to Tennessee last year and blossomed into an elite player off the edge of the offensive line. He started 13 games for the Vols and grabbed 24 passes for 301 yards and four touchdowns. His best single game was vs. Kentucky when he caught six passes for 97 yards and the winning touchdown throw in the fourth quarter. He also had a rushing score against Georgia. The offensive staff got a double bonus with him because he is also a stubborn blocker for the run game in the Vol offense. He is rehabbing from an injury but is expected to be full speed by the start of the season, if not sooner.   Jason Peevyhouse Editor, JP Productions Sports Just about a month removed from the end of the 2025 TSSAA baseball season, Dyersburg junior backstop Alex Page has received a postseason honor as he was named to the Tennessee Baseball Coaches Association Class AAA All-State Team for his efforts during this past season. “It comes as no surprise that Alex made the all-state team,” Dyersburg Head Coach Zane Mathis said. “He never fails to impress me. He is an extremely hard worker and puts in the work year-round. “He is always looking for ways to grow and never fails to highly represent Trojan Baseball. Alex always shows up and plays to win.   Jason Peevyhouse Editor, JP Productions Sports Just about a month removed from the end of the 2025 TSSAA baseball season, Dyer County junior Talon Messer has received a postseason honor as he was named to the Tennessee Baseball Coaches Association Class AAA All-State Team for his efforts during this past spring. “Very proud of Talon, and he is very deserving of this honor,” Dyer County head coach Derek Hinson said. “The numbers might not show this year like he would want, but look at the schedule we play! “I can’t wait for next year for his senior campaign and see what he is going to do!” Messer was one of 26 players across Tennessee to be named to the all-state team in Class AAA. Messer batted .331 during his junior season with three home runs, 40 RBI and 27 runs scored. While accumulating 40 hits, he also drew 22 walks at the plate.   Meet the Vols 2025 Offensive Tackles Position Coach-- Glen Elarbee All Star Candidates-- Lance Heard, David Sanders, Jr. (Freshman Honors) Lance Heard-- Junior (6-6, 325) from Bonita, Louisiana-- After transferring from LSU last year, Heard battled his way to the first-string job at left tackle, winning the job over a couple of veteran blockers. He was slowed by an injury and missed some time but returned to re-claim the position. Heard struggled at times and the staff believes he was not in the best physical condition before or after his injury.  Consequently, the strength and conditioning staff when to work with him during the winter and it appears that most of the concentrated efforts are going to successful. Heard has lost some weight and improved his agility and foot work. Coming out of high school, he was a premiere recruit, rated as a five star and the No. 2 tackle prospect in the nation on the On3 charts.   Jason Peevyhouse Editor, JP Productions Sports There will be a new face on the sidelines for the Choctaw soccer teams this upcoming fall and spring as Dyer County High School has hired Will Sanders as the new head coach for both the girls and boys teams on the pitch. The announcement came via the Choctaws’ social media on Tuesday morning. “I am beyond blessed and excited for the opportunity to be the head coach of both soccer programs at Dyer County,” Sanders said of being hired to helm the orange and white clubs. “I’m looking forward to getting to work with both teams and making ourselves better everyday.” Tuesday turned into a busy day for the new head coach as DCHS hosted an informal meet and greet with the Sanders, Dyer County Athletic Director Chris Parker, DCHS soccer players and parents that evening. “It was amazing to get to meet with both teams tonight and see the passion of the players and their want to be better and work hard,” Sanders added. “I’m super exc...

  Meet the Vols 2025 Centers/Offensive Guards Position Coach-- Glen Elarbee All Star Candidate-- Wendell Moe Wendell Moe-- Red shirt junior (6-2, 330) from Long Beach, California-- Tennessee needed immediate help in the blocking front and the staff found Moe in the portal. He transferred from Arizona where he was a mainstay for the past two seasons. He was a second team All-Conference (Pac-12) selection after playing a total of 1775 offensive snaps and yielding only one quarterback sack over his position. He did not allow a sack last season. He is a powerful blocker in the run game as well as when protecting the passer and he is one of the strongest players on this football team. Moe is among the top 10 offensive linemen that entered the transfer portal this past January. Coach Elarbee has his left guard and potential leader in Moe.
