After setting the tone with a trio of scores in the first
quarter, Three Oaks opened their 2025 season with a 30-0 win over visiting Halls
on Tuesday night at Three Oaks.
Special teams made the first big play of the season after
the Choctaw defense forced the Tigers to punt. Halls narrowly got the punt off
and the ball bounced over by the Three Oaks sideline. Carsyn Scott ran in and
scooped the ball up then returned it 55 yards for the touchdown. Zay Bowen added
the two-point conversion to put Three Oaks on top 8-0 with 6:05 left in the opening
frame.
The Three Oaks defense again held the Tigers in check and, this time, got the Halls punt blocked with Bowen coming up with the block. Three Oaks got the ball near the goal line then punched it in on a three-yard run from Bowen. Kaii Wallace added the two-point conversion to give the Choctaws a 14-0 lead with 4:21 left in the first frame.
The Choctaws picked up one more score later in the first on
a ten-yard run from Bowen with 18 seconds left. The two-point conversion came
up short, leaving the Three Oaks lead at 22-0.
After a scoreless second quarter, the Choctaws got on the board
in the third frame with a 12-yard touchdown pass from Brylan Hatch to Nason
Dycus with 3:46 left in the quarter. Hatch then hit Scott for the two-point
conversion to put Three Oaks on top 30-0.
The clock ran through the fourth quarter as the Choctaws
picked up the win.
Three Oaks has a quick turnaround as the Choctaws travel to
West Bemis on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
