Coming off a setback last week in their final non-region game of the 2025 regular season, Obion County Central will make its final road trip of the regular season on Friday as the Rebels travel to Ripley for a Region 7-3A showdown with the Tigers.

Central Head Coach Clayton Morris said these next two region games are extremely important with postseason implications on the line.

“But we have to take them one at a time,” Morris explained. “Ripley is first. If we don’t handle business here, the next one won’t matter.”

Looking at the Ripley offense, the winless Tigers have only scored 22 points over the course of their eight losses. Morris still is not taking this opponent lightly.

“They are massive up front,” the Central head coach said. “Their backfield is athletic, and they have a wildcat set that gives them success.”

Morris explained the Central defense will need a big game from the defensive backs.

“They cannot give up deep balls this week,” Morris added.

On the other side of the ball, the Tigers have the same benefit of size, according to the Central head coach. The guys up front could have their hands full when the Rebels are on offense.

“It’s going to be a challenge for our O-line,” Morris explained. “We are best up in that position for the first time this season. Interested to see how that group responds.”

Kickoff is at 7 p.m. at Ripley High School.
