After going 2-1 on their three-game homestand, the Lake County Falcons (4-2, 1-1) will head back out on the road for much of the rest of the season.

Lake County plays three of its last four games away from Tiptonville, beginning with this Friday night’s game at South Fulton.

Last Friday, after a pair of rallies in the first two games of the homestand, the Falcons took care of business and defeated West Carroll 43-6. Lake County Head Coach Hunter Short said good things happen when you come out and play the way you are capable of.

“The kids came out with a task at hand and did what they were supposed to do,” Short said.

This week, the Falcons face a South Fulton team which is undefeated through the first six games of the season. The Red Devils are coming off a 35-0 win over Gleason last week at home.

“South Fulton’s guys play really hard so we better be able to match their intensity,” Short said of the Lake County offense.

The guys up front in the box will need to have a good game, according to the Lake County head coach.

“Our defensive line group and inside linebackers have to do their job in order for us to be successful on Friday,” Short explained.

On the other side of the ball, the Red Devil defense flies around and gets a lot of hats to the football, Short explained.

Again, the guys up front need to set the tone for the Lake County offense.

“It’s our O-Line group,” Short explained. “They’ve played better in recent weeks, and we need a big game from them up front.”

Getting off to a good start will also be important on both sides of the ball moving through the rest of the season.

“We’ve been known to start slow this year, and that can’t happen the rest of the year,” Short said. “We have to come out with some intensity, especially on the road.”

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. on Friday night in South Fulton.
