The Lady Trojans set the tone early and built a double-figure lead after one quarter on the way to the 31-point win.

While shooting a perfect 6-for-6 from the line in the opening frame as well as adding a bucket, Desleign Strayhorn paced the Lady Trojans during the first quarter which saw them take a 13-1 lead after six minutes.

In the second frame, Dyersburg held the Lady Choctaws to just a Maddie Campbell jumper. Meanwhile, the Lady Trojans repeated their first-quarter performance with another baker’s dozen. Strayhorn led with seven as the black and gold took a 26-3 lead into the half.

Three Oaks’ offense was able to put more points on the board in the third quarter, led by Shi’mya Crittendon’s two buckets. But, Strayhorn added ten more to her total and Taj Jones tossed in six for good measure as the Lady Trojans took a 44-11 lead into the fourth quarter.

From there, the black and gold cruised to the victory with the clock running and the mercy rule in effect.

Strayhorn led everyone with 25 points for the Lady Trojans while Jones added 11. Campbell paced Three Oaks with six points in the loss.

Dyersburg returns to action on Thursday when the Trojans and Lady Trojans host the University School of Jackson at 6 p.m. Three Oaks will also be in action on Thursday as the Choctaws and Lady Choctaws host Haywood at 6 p.m.
