Local girls players honored with District 13-3A awards


 




Thanks to their 32-31 win over South Gibson in the District 13-3A Tournament Championship Game on Wednesday night in Newbern, the Lady Choctaws have won the district tournament for the second straight season.

Following the District 13-3A Championship Game on Wednesday night at Dyer County High School, four Dyersburg players received district individual honors. Lady Trojans honored were (from left) Chelby Jordan (All-District, All-Tournament); Kalli Maclin (All-Academic, All-District), Aerie Quinn (All-Tournament), and Joya Crawford (District 13-3A Most Valuable Player, District 13-3A Tournament Most Valuable Player. Not pictured: Kay Kay Strayhorn (All-District), Tim Strayhorn (District 13-3A Coach of the Year).

  Jason Peevyhouse Editor, JP Productions Sports Two local youth sports organizations will be working together later this year to bring Dyersburg three travel baseball tournaments with the first on the calendar for mid-August. The Dyersburg Activity Center and the Dyersburg Diamond Youth Baseball league will be working together to host three tournaments this fall with Grand Slam Baseball.
