South Fulton tops Lake County on Senior Night

With the District 14-A Tournament beginning on Tuesday night and the regular season ending on Friday, the Lake County Falcons honored their seniors before Friday night's game against South Fulton but fell 69-50
The Falcons struggled scoring at times in the opening quarter and were led by four points from Ka'Devon Gross, trailing 15-9 after one quarter.
South Fulton opened the second frame with an 8-2 run to build a lead of 12 with 5:07 left in the half. Lake County got a free throw by Jatavion Ricks and a three-pointer by Xander Hertel to cut into the lead. But, South Fulton ended on another 8-2 run to take a 31-17 lead at the half.
The Red Devils extended their lead to 18 early in the second half but Lake County battled back. A pair of Hertel three-pointers and buckets from Ricks and Gross cut the South Fulton lead back to eight. But, the Red Devils outscored the Falcons 9-4 over the next several minutes to help themselves to a 44-33 lead heading into the fourth quarter.
South Fulton opened the final frame with a 10-3 run which effectively put the game out of reach. The Red Devils then held on for the 19-point win.
Hertel led the way for the Falcons with 12 while Jaquavion Stovall added 11 in the loss.
Lake County hosts Greenfield on Tuesday night in District 14A opening round action at 6:30 p.m.
