The Lady Trojans, 2-0 coming in thanks to wins last week over Gibson County and Dresden, dropped their first game of the 2025 season on Monday, falling 3-2 in District 13-3A play to Obion County Central in Troy.

The Lady Trojans got on the board early on, scoring twice in the top of the first inning. Chelby Jordan, fresh off a TSSAA Class 3A All-Tournament Team selection this past weekend, drew a walk in her first at bat on the diamond. This played key as Jordan scored two batters later when fellow junior Izzie Odom homered on a fly ball to centerfield to put the Lady Trojans on top 2-0 after a half inning.

The Lady Trojan defense kept the Lady Rebels at bay for much of the game, facing only three over the minimum through six innings. But, the Dyersburg offense only managed a trio of singles after the first inning which also saw a single by Lily Kate Jones and a double from Murphy Morgan.

Central got a reward for its defensive effort in the bottom of the seventh as the offense finally got to Lady Trojan starter Addie Gatlin and the Dyersburg defense. Two singles and a fielder’s choice loaded the bases. Another single and a grounder to short got an out but a pair of runs by the Lady Rebels to tie the game. Central then got an RBI single to get the walkoff win.

Jordan led the way for the Lady Trojans at the plate with a pair of singles.

Gatlin took the loss in the circle, allowing three runs on five hits with 13 strikeouts in 6.1 innings of work.

Dyersburg travels to Jackson on Tuesday as the Lady Trojans look to bounce back against Jackson Christian School at 5:30 p.m.
