In a game which took 20 runs to decide, the Three Oaks
baseball team remained unbeaten on the year, moving to 10-0 with a 12-8 win
over the Lions at Trinity Christian School in Jackson on Monday.
With the game tied at 2-2 after three innings, the Choctaws
erupted in the top of the fourth, scoring ten times to take control of the
game. Crawford Childress led off with a
single then scored on a Corbyn Kolwyck single to break the tie. With the lead
in their hands, the Choctaws did 90 percent of the inning’s damage with two
outs. M DAVIS singled which led to a pair of runs and a three-run Three Oaks
lead. Braxton Anderson doubled two batters later, scoring two more runs.
Grayson Daniels added an RBI single then Childress singled in a run to make it
a seven-run frame already.
The Choctaws were not done as a base-loaded double from Nate
Vick cleared the bases and scored three teammates to put the Three Oaks boys up
12-2 after three and a half frames.
TCA was able to put together a late rally, scoring six times
in the bottom of the fifth but Three Oaks was able to make the most of its
large lead to take the four-run win.
Kolwyick led the way for the Choctaws at the plate with
three singles and an RBI. Anderson and Cullen Messer each had a single and a double
in the win.
Messer picked up the win, allowing two runs on three hits
with a strikeout in 3.1 innings of work.
Three Oaks returns to action on Tuesday when the Choctaws finish
the home-and-home set with Trinity Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. at Three Oaks
