After a tough start at the plate during the first two games of the week, Dyersburg bounced back on Friday to close the week out with a 4-0 win over visiting North Side on Friday night at Tom Mathis Field.

Dyersburg had the bases loaded with two out in the bottom of the third as Brett Horner and Alex Page singled then Will Leonard was hit by a pitch to load the bases. But, a fly out ended the Trojan threat with the score remaining tied at 0-0.

The Trojans managed to get a runner on in the bottom of the fourth as Ty Seaton drew a two-out walk but was stranded when the next batter flew out to keep the game tied.

After four scoreless innings, the Trojans were finally able to punch through in the bottom of the fifth inning with a pair of runs. With one out, Horner doubled then Page singled him in to put Dyersburg on the board. Leonard and JP Noblin were each hit by a pitch then Jayce Ellerbrook sent a run home on a sacrifice fly to put Dyersburg up 2-0 after five innings.

The Trojans picked up a pair of insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth. Evan Thompson reached on an error that also scored a run. Horner followed with an RBI single to put Dyersburg up 4-0 heading into the top of the seventh inning.

After a hit batter and a walk, Thompson settled down to strikeout the next three batters to secure the win.

Horner had a double and two singles to account for three of the Trojans five hits. Page had two singles for the other two.

Leonard picked up the win, allowing no runs on three hits with six strikeouts. Thompson pitched the final two frames, holding the Indians hitless with six Ks.

Dyersburg returns to action on Monday when the Trojans travel to USA Stadium to take on St. Patrick High School at 6 p.m. in Millington.
