While Obion County Central allowed only a trio of hits against Crockett County in its District 13-3A Consolation Round game on Saturday afternoon at Dyer County High School in Newbern, the Rebel offense sputtered with just one hit as Central fell 10-0 to bring its season to a close.

Of the ten runs the Rebels surrendered on Saturday, six were earned with Layne Stover taking the loss with four runs (three earned) on one hit in one inning of work.

The Cavaliers scored in each of their four innings at the plate with their six-run second inning being the big mark of the day for Crockett County.

Braxton Bruce singled with two outs in the top of the second to account for the Rebels one hit on the day. Other than a hit batter in the top of third, he was Central’s only base runner during the five-inning loss.

The loss brings Central’s season to a close with a 9-20 record.
