Powered by a quartet of goals in the first half, Dyersburg’s Lady Trojans proved to be too much for Millington on the pitch as the black and gold from Dyersburg needed just under 60 minutes to take a 9-0 win on Thursday at J.C. Sawyers Stadium.

Dyersburg got on the board first with a goal from Meredith Zamzow early in the first half to give the home team a 1-0 lead.

Ava Winegardner then tacked on a goal later in the half to double the Lady Trojan lead at 2-0.

Zamzow struck again later in the half to push the Lady Trojan lead to 3-0.

Senior Kathleen Harrell got into the scoring late in the half to give Dyersburg a 4-0 lead at the break.

The Lady Trojans looked to put the visiting Millington team away as Haddy Manneh (46th) and Harrell (49th) scored in the first ten minutes of the second half.

The Dyersburg scoring continued into the next ten minutes as Zamzow added a goal in the 52nd minute to complete her hat trick. Manneh added two goals – one in the 54th minute and another in the 59th – to secure the mercy rule win while earning the hat trick.

Dyersburg returns to action on Monday when the Lady Trojans host Brighton at 6 p.m.
