Coming off a long road trip earlier in the week to Arlington, the Lady Trojans returned home and made short work of visiting Covington, defeating the Lady Chargers 9-0 via mercy rule on Thursday at the Dyersburg Soccer Complex.

Dyersburg got on the board early and often in the first half as Haddy Manneh scored the first of her six goals during the early moments of the first half.

That goal was just the first of four first-half goals as the Lady Trojan sophomore sensation powered Dyersburg to a 4-0 lead late in the first half before senior Kathleen Harrell added a late goal to put the black and gold on top 5-0 at the half.

The Lady Trojans didn’t need the full 40 minutes of the second half to put away the Lady Chargers as Manneh scored two more times to give her six goals in all on Thursday while Harrell added another. Dyersburg got one more goal from Maria Vazquez to seal the mercy rule win for the Lady Trojans.

Dyersburg returns to action next week when the Lady Trojans host the University School of Jackson on Monday at 6 p.m.
