Lake County falls in doubleheader at Gibson County

Lake County opened the week on the road but found a tough time of it as the Lady Falcons fell in a doubleheader to Gibson County in Dyer on Tuesday evening.

The Lady Pioneers jumped out to an early lead in the opening set on the way to a 25-8 victory in the first set of the evening. Lake County battled back, playing its closest set of the evening before falling 25-18 to the Lady Pioneers. In the third and final set of the first game, the Lady Falcons fell 25-14 as Gibson County completed the sweep in the opening game.

Gibson County took the first set of the second game 25-12 then dominated the second set by a 25-5 score. The Lady Pioneers then completed the doubleheader sweep with a 25-8 win in the third set to take the second game.

Lake County returns to action on Thursday when the Lady Falcons travel to Union City at 5 p.m.
