After splitting the first two sets in the second meeting of the two Dyer County Schools’ middle school volleyball programs, Northview held off a late surge from the Choctaws from Upper Finley Road to defeat Three Oaks 2-1 on Wednesday evening at Northview.

Following an early lead by Three Oaks, Northview stormed back to take a commanding lead as the Choctaws from Newbern outscored the visitors 9-2 to take a 10-4 lead late in the third and deciding set. Three Oaks had one last surge in them as the Choctaws cut the lead to 12-11 before Northview scored three straight to take the third and final set.

Northview took the first set 25-19 but a dominating stretch by the Three Oaks girls early in the second set helped the Choctaws from Upper Finley Road take the second set 25-17 to force the third set.
