The first meeting of the two middle school Choctaw volleyball teams needed all three sets to decide as Northview rallied late to take a three-set win over hosting Three Oaks on Wednesday night on Upper Finley Road.

Both teams took one of the first two sets which set up the all-important deciding third set.

Northview jumped out to a 3-1 lead early after an Emma Milligan kill and kept a one-point advantage moments later following another Milligan spike. Three Oaks rallied through the middle of the set, taking the lead and building a 10-7 advantage. Northview battled back to tie the game and force a TOMS timeout. The Choctaws from Upper Finley Road responded with an Alecia Sandoval kill to retake the lead but Northview responded by ending the game on a 4-0 run after a Milligan tip and a kill to seal the three-set win.

Northview took the first set after a back-and-forth battle which saw multiple lead changes. The Choctaws from Newbern sealed the 25-19 win with a Milligan kill.

Three Oaks battled back and led the way for much of the second set before taking the frame 25-16 to force the third and deciding set.

Northview returns to action on Tuesday, Sept. 9 when the Choctaws host Halls. Meanwhile, Three Oaks will be in action again on Thursday as the Choctaws from Upper Finley Road host Dyersburg Middle School.

The match was the annual Pink Out Night, a fundraiser for the Community Cancer Fund.
