The Obion County Central volleyball season came to a close on Monday night as the Lady Rebels fell in three sets to Crockett County in the District 13AA Tournament at Dyer County High School in Newbern.

The Lady Cavaliers jumped out to a 4-0 lead early in the opening set before kills from Central’s Lena Kate Johnson and Ella Paschall cut into the Crockett County lead. The Lady Cavaliers were unfazed and built a 15-9 lead moments later. The Lady Rebels rallied later in the frame with kills from Johnson, Carsen Brady-Elliott and Kodie Robbins helped cut the deficit to 22-18. But, Crockett County responded with three straight points to take the opening frame 25-18.

The Lady Cavaliers controlled things in the second set and took a 2-0 lead following a 25-9 win in the second stanza.

Crockett County got off to another good start in the third set, jumping out to a 5-0 lead on the way to a double-digit advantage. From there, the Lady Cavaliers cruised to a 25-13 win in the third frame to clinch the sweep and end the Lady Rebels’ season.

The loss also brings an end to the high school careers of Lady Rebel seniors Carsen Brady-Elliot, Kodie Robbins, Brooke Baker, Annie Miller, Ella Paschall, and Mia Williams.

Crockett County will play Milan in the District 13AA Semifinals on Tuesday night. Tipoff is scheduled for 6:15 p.m.
