Dubruiel named TnFCA Coach of the Week

Following a tough contest coming off Fall Break which saw the Choctaws hand previously undefeated University School of Jackson its first loss last Friday night in Newbern, Dyer County Head Coach Justin Dubruiel has been named the Tennessee Football Coaches Association Coach of the Week for Class 4-6A.

Dubruiel stayed humble when taking about the recognition.

“It’s cool award to get but our entire staff did a great job getting people in the right spot to make us successful,” he said.

Dyer County (6-2, 3-2) hosts South Side this week in a game with playoff implications.

“Coach Dubruiel continues to set the tone for what it means to lead with integrity, preparation, and passion,” Dyer County High School Athletic Director Chris Parker said.  “This recognition from the TnFCA is well-deserved after an exciting win over an undefeated USJ team last week.”

The Dyersburg Activity Center and the Dyersburg Diamond Youth Baseball league will be working together to host three tournaments this fall with Grand Slam Baseball.
