Lake County concludes homestand with West Carroll

After splitting the last two games in Tiptonville, the Falcons will look to wrap up a three-game homestand with a win on Friday night as Lake County hosts West Carroll on Friday night.

Lake County rallied last week to win their homecoming game with Fulton County, Ky. Falcon Head Coach Hunter Short talked about what he wants his team to take away from last week’s come-from-behind victory.

“When our effort is good, we are good, and when the effort is bad, we are bad,” Short explained. “I am proud of the second-half effort of our guys, but we have to stop putting ourselves in bad situations.”

The Falcons head back into Region 7A play this week and will remain so through the final stretch of games heading towards the end of the regular season.

The War Eagle offense could give Lake County some fits if they are able to wear the Falcon defense down.

“They have a big offensive line that could give us problems if we wear down,” the Lake County head coach said. “The player that jumps out is (running back) Mason Taylor.

“He’s a very good player.”

The Falcon defense will need to play well, especially up front.

“The defensive line will need to get to their gap and make some plays in the backfield,” Short explained.

On the other side of the ball, West Carroll’s defensive line plays hard and moves well up the field.

“Our offensive line played the best game they’ve played all season Friday night, so we need another big performance from them,” the Lake County head coach said.

Friday night is also Lake County’s Pink Out night in support of Breast Cancer Awareness.

Kickoff is at 7 p.m. in Tiptonville this Friday night.
