The DMS Lady Trojans found themselves trailing by four following a slow start by the black and gold. The Lady Trojans made up for it in the second half, taking the lead in the third quarter in the process of pulling away from Crockett for a 39-29 win on Tuesday night at Dyersburg Middle School.

TJ Jones led the way for the Lady Trojans in the opening quarter, scoring three as the black and gold trailed 10-7 at the end of one frame.

Crockett County was able to add to its lead in the second quarter. But, the Lady Trojan defense minimalized it as a three-pointer and two free throws from Desleign Strayhorn along with a bucket from Morgan Eakin kept DMS within striking distance at 18-14 at the break.

The Lady Trojans opened the second half on fire, defensively allowing only three points in the third quarter. Meanwhile, Jones led the way with a nine-point frame to help DMS take a 29-21 lead into the fourth quarter.

From there, a balanced scoring effort from the Lady Trojans sealed the 10-point win for DMS.

Jones paced Dyersburg with 18 points in the win.
