Three Oaks sweeps Northview in Battle of the Choctaws

The first of two showdowns between the two middle schools in the Dyer County School System resulted in a pair of wins by hosting Three Oaks on Thursday night.
The Choctaws from Upper Finley Road dominated the fourth
quarter, outscoring Northview 15-3 over the final six minutes of action to take
a 43-31 win in the second game of the night.
The game was tied at 28-28 to end the third quarter before Three
Oaks went on its run. Five points from Cullen Granno and four each by Seth
Morris and Grady Patterson led the way for the Choctaws from Upper Finley Road.
Three Oaks’ defense limited the Choctaws from Newbern to just a bucket from Knox
Smith to go along with a free throw as TOMS took the 21-point win.
Morris paced Three Oaks with 19 while Granno added nine. Robinson
led Northview with 17 points in the loss.

A ten-point fourth quarter proved to be the difference as Three Oaks defended its home court for the win.
Three Oaks was able to turn its four-point third-quarter
lead into a bigger one by the final buzzer as six points from Maddie Campbell
and four by Sha’Mya Crittendon provided the offensive attack by the Lady
Choctaws from Upper Finley Road en route to the win.
Crittendon led the way with 17 points while Campbell added 10
in the win for Three Oaks. Northview was paced by Landri Stewart and Jaliyah
Watson, each scoring 11 in the loss.
Three Oaks returns to the court on Tuesday, November 18 when
the Choctaws and Lady Choctaws travel to Covington at 6 p.m. Meanwhile, Northview
will be back in action on Monday when the Choctaws and Lady Choctaws host
Ripley at 6 p.m.
