Dyer County hit the road to start its Christmas break, picking up a pair of wins at Milan in the Milan Christmas Classic on Friday.
The Choctaw boys picked up their second win of the week as
the orange and white defeated Chester County 65-31.
Dyer County led by a dozen after the opening quarter then dominated
the second frame thanks in part to a nine-point second quarter on the way to a 41-13
lead at the half.
From there, the Choctaws cruised to the win.
Clay Dodds continued his strong play this season with a
21-point effort to lead the way for the Choctaws in the classic opener.
Earlier in the day, Dyer County held off Camden for a 45-44
win over Camden Central.
The Lady Choctaws led by ten heading into the final frame.
However, a Lady Lions rally kept things interesting as Camden cut into the Dyer
County lead. Julie Cogdill led the way in the frame for the orange and white,
scoring all eight DC points to help the Lady Choctaws get the win.
It was the second win over the Lady Lions in as many weeks.
Cogdill led the way with a dozen points while Ava Pearson added
11.
Dyer County returns to action on Saturday in Milan. The Choctaws
take on Gibson County at 2:30 p.m. while the Lady Choctaws face the hosting
Milan girls at 5:30 p.m.
