Seasons were on the line on Monday night in Selmer as the Lady Trojans made sure their 2025-26 season would continue as Dyersburg ended a lengthy run of South Side region tournament wins with a 73-65 win over the Lady Hawks at McNairy Central in the Region 7-3A Semifinals.

Dyersburg held a two-point lead heading into the final quarter of regulation. Despite eight points from Chelby Jordan in the fourth quarter, South Side was able to pull even with the Lady Trojans and force overtime via a 56-56 tie.

During the extra frame, with the Lady Trojans trailing, Zya Currie hit a three-pointer to put Dyersburg back out in front. However, again the Lady Hawks rallied to tie the game at 64-64, forcing a second overtime period.

But, the second overtime frame belonged to the Lady Trojans as Dyersburg outscored South Side 9-1 to secure the win and the black and gold’s spot in Wednesday night’s Region 7-3A Championship Game.

Class 3A Miss Basketball Finalist Chelby Jordan led the way for Dyersburg with 36 points while fellow senior Aerie Quinn added 14. Kay Kay Strayhorn added 10 in the win.

Dyersburg will face the winner of the second semifinal game between South Gibson and McNairy Central on Wednesday night in Selmer.
