Lake County closes out Aaron Schuh Tournament with win over Tipton Christian

The Falcon baseball team continued its hot start to the regular season on Friday while also concluding its stay in the Aaron Schuh Tournament in Dyersburg with a 5-1 over Tipton Christian Academy on Friday.

Lake County got on the board early as Camden Lanier singled in a run to put the Falcons on top 1-0 after one inning.

The Falcons picked up another run in the second inning as Sawyer Robinson got a two-out RBI single to put Lake County on top 2-0 through two innings.


Lake County doubled its lead with two outs in the bottom of the third. Russell Ragan doubled in two runs to give the Falcons a 4-0 after the bottom of the third.

John Aydon Cochran added to the Lake County lead in the bottom of the fifth with an RBI single to put the Falcons on top by five.

Tipton Christian was able to get a run in the sixth thanks to an error before Lake County got through the top of the seventh with a 1-2-3 frame to seal the win.

The win moves Lake County to 4-0 on the year following wins earlier in the week over Ripley, West Carroll and Bradford.

Harrison Metoyer picked up the win, allowing one hit over five innings while striking out five.

Metoyer and Dakahi Clark each had a pair of singles to lead the Falcons at the plate.

Lake County returns to the field on Monday when the Falcons host Halls at 5 p.m.
