The Lady Trojans got their week off to a dominating start on
Monday night at the Dyersburg Soccer Complex with a 9-1 win over Munford in non-district
action.
Dyersburg’s scoring came at an 89-percent pace from senior
Meredith Zamzow. The Lady Trojan scored eight of the black and gold’s nine
goals, nearly tying a school record for most goals in a game.
The Lady Trojans remaining goal came from Erika Bocanegra as
Dyersburg took the eight-goal win to open the week.
Zamzow also enters the state record books with her
eight-goal performance, joining Lady Trojan alums Zainab Manneh (Oct. 17, 2023)
and Meridith Kerber (Aug. 23, 2018) as Dyersburg players who have accomplished
the feat.
The school record for goals in a game was set last season by
then Lady Trojan sophomore Haddy Manneh with nine in a win over Obion County
Central on Sept. 25, 2025.
Dyersburg returns to action on Thursday when the Lady Trojans
travel to Troy to take on Obion County Central at 6 p.m.
