Time to Buckle Up Tennessee's players have returned from spring break and it is time to get drills underway. This is the unofficial start to the 2026 football season and UT has several new additions to both the staff and the roster this year. On the defensive side of the ball, the staff was overhauled and the new coaches then recruited transfers that they either coached or were familiar with from the past couple of seasons. Some fans are saying that this is a crucial spring and season for head coach Josh Heupel. Yes, it is important but crucial might be too strong an adjective to apply. Obviously Heupel's main focus over the next five weeks will be to locate his next field general and establish that quarterback as the player that will lead the offense this fall. Other work in progress will be to locate the starters on the right side of the offensive line, the rotation at wide receiver and determine the best option for the top backup at running back.
